“An Evening of Champions”, 12th November
David is appearing in a concert ” An Evening of Champions ” on Saturday 12th November at Holy Trinity Church, Dobcross, Saddleworth. The line up includes:
The Cottontown Chorus –The 50-strong reigning British Champion Barbershop Chorus’s great sense of fun and their unique style of vocal entertainment has gripped audiences for over 30 years
The Northern Brass Collective —Brass quintet formed by members of Brighouse & Rastrick, the National British Brass Band Champions
Absolution Saxophone Quartet —Award winning young ensemble, formed at the Royal Northern College of Music in 2006. The group are winners of the 2009 & 2010 Trevor Wye Memorial Prize & the RNCM Chamber Music Prize earning them the title ‘RNCM Ensemble of the Year 2009’.
Demand for tickets is expected to be high, so please best to book early. It was a bit chilly and very early on the morning after the opening performance but the crew made me welcome and the tea helped too. We heard a fabulous local school Ukelele Band (Medina) which was terrific and met John Giddings, the promoter, too. Then the link to Christian in the London studio and time for lots of thank yous and farewells….. it’s been brillliant Absolute – thoroughly enjoyed it all and hope we’ll talk again …. keep whistling!
Isle of Wight festival honour, 10th June
David is proud to have been chosen to open the hugely popular Isle of Wight Rock Music festival this summer on the 10th of June. David will be at the event along with big names including Foo Fighters, Kings Of Leon, Kasabian, Pulp and Liam Gallagher’s Beady Eye.
