David’s latest project has seen him mixing with pop royalty as he was asked to perform on the soundtrack for the upcoming movie Mama Mia! Here We Go Again. And the whole thing came as something of a surprise.
After receiving a request to attend Air Studios in London to record some of his whistling for “a new movie”, David was more than pleasantly surprised to turn up, only to be met by ABBA’s Benny Andersson, as well as the film’s musical director Anne Dudley. “I had no idea which film it was until I arrived and was told that Benny Anderson of ABBA was there overseeing the music production,” said David.
“It was a great thrill to meet him [Andersson] having been an ABBA fan over the years,” he added.
The film is a sequel to the 2008 movie Mama Mia, which was based on the stage musical of the stage name. Hollywood A-listers such as Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth reprise their roles from the original movie, joined this time by Cher.
Mama Mia! Here We Go Again is scheduled for release in cinemas on July 20th, 2018.
Those of a sensitive disposition should look away now. David has recently been lending his whistling talent to the soundtrack of a spooky new children’s TV series.
David Morris can now add “international feature film” to his long list of impressive credits. David’s whistling talents can be heard on the soundtrack to The Counselor – a star-studded ensemble drama from multi-Academy Award nominee Ridley Scott.
